Model 613 Glunt Two-Way Aspirator for Mosquitoes with Pathogens

The Glunt Two-Way Aspirator for Mosquitoes with Pathogens (Model 613) allows you to move insects from A to B without the possibility of escape. Designed with the manipulation of pathogen-infected mosquitoes in mind, it requires only small modifications to your cages or containers, rather than a glove-box set up. Unit supplied with two stoppers.

While a post-doctoral researcher at Penn State’s Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (CIDD) Dr. Katey Glunt very cleverly developed this aspirator to move falciparum-positive anophelines from the cup where they had been given an infectious blood meal several days earlier (A) to an arena (B) where their behavior would be observed.
