Design Characteristics
The Odonate Trap can be ordered with either wet collection head OR the dry, 2-ringed collection bag.
Odonate Trap with wet head
The wet head version includes a wide-mouth, two-liter Nalgene polypropylene jar to hold alcohol, etc. The jar unscrews from the lower unit for easy access.
The dry head version includes a double-ringed collection bag which uses galvanized rings and has a saran top.
Large-Intake Size Collection Head
The Odonate Townes Trap is a single-headed trap that comes supplied with a collection head designed for the capture of dragonflies and other large insects. The intake of the wet or dry collection head on the Odonate Trap is smooth on the inside with an inside diameter of four inches (10 cm).
